Lecturer’s eye, Palais Galliera

July 7, 2020

The Palais Galliera, the fashion museum of the City of Paris, is the unmissable event for fashion lovers. With more than 200,000 garments, accessories, photographs, drawings, illustrations and prints, its collections are among the richest in the world. They are a reflection of French fashion from the 18th century to the present day, right up to its most contemporary expressions. After a campaign of work carried out with the support of CHANEL, allowing it to double its exhibition rooms, the Palais Galliera will reopen on October 1, 2020 with the retrospective “Gabrielle Chanel, Manifeste de mode” followed, in spring 2021, by the exhibition “Vogue Paris 1920-2020” and by the permanent collection new display.

While waiting for its reopening, the Palais Galliera invites you to discover what goes on behind the scenes. Two of its lecturers have selected 5 major pieces from the collections of the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris and tell you their story.
