PARIS 25TH JANUARY 2021

I feel lucky that my local neighborhood is Paris. In this trying year, when so many of us have been forced to stay close to home, I got to discover it anew. This new collection draws on a close collaboration with some of the great Paris houses. I have known Goossens for years and have had the chance to work in the past and now for my own label, I discovered new ways to use their unique savoir-faire to create my own silhouettes.

Since the 1950s, the house of Goossens has won a reputation for unequaled savoir-faire in jewelry-making. It has produced collections for some of the great fashion designers of France. I am proud to add my name to the house’s list of eminent collaborators. This season, the Goossens ateliers in Paris will be producing my jewelry designs in vermeil (gilded silver) and semi-precious stones. Each piece is numbered and made in limited editions.
When I started designing my jewelry for this collection I was inspired by gold and colored stones. I remembered I had brought back with me from India 9 yrs ago different bracelets with colored semiprecious stones that I had gotten for the beauty of the stones, I started sketching shapes of jewelry putting the stones at the center of the pieces combining the colors together.
I sketched the Gabriel bracelet in gold with 4 stones in dégradés with a large citrine at the center, péridot, aquamarine and a smaller citrine cabochon.

A double ring Toi et Moi, using the citrine on one side, aquamarine and two small peridots on the other.
Two sautoirs to wear together or separately with different chains alternating the same four stones.
Sautoir Corine and Sautoir Jeanne a very thin and oval chain.
As well as the Katie earrings with a partial Corine chain two stones on one side, citrine and peridot to wear asymmetrically with just a simple hoop on the other ear which feel extremely light.
Goossens was the best atelier to work on these creations in gold and stones here in Paris made by hand. These artisans in France are so very inspiring to work with working step by step to construct together and create new beauty, quality, and exactly what you desire.

I design jewelry to wear with my Couture dresses that are one of a kind or in very small numbered limited editions, I feel jewelry can also be seen as a finished edge on a sleeve, the neckline of a dress or even incorporated as the centerpiece of the dress which is all that is needed and tells a story.
